  • Career defining roles in an extraordinary New Zealand business

Play a key role in supporting our core production and operations platforms.

Due to a change in strategy, two new Software Developer roles have been created to maintain and develop our core operation, production and stock systems. The main focus will be to support the proprietary production inventory platform. A business-critical system, it is used across multiple production sites as well as the deep-sea fleet. Integrated with other systems including Industrial Control platforms, it is imperative the platform is fully supported and functional in order to effectively manage production and stock. Initially these roles will focus on supporting and developing the current code base, with the longer term aim to modernise the code, tools and approach to be future fit. A key part of this role is building relationships and working closely with external partners and internal business units. While most work is during business hours in the top of the South Island, some flexibility is required to ensure operational continuity.

Our current platforms include VB6, C# (.NET), Crystal Reports for Visual Studio, SQL Databases and other Microsoft platforms and equipment, including handheld scanners. Experience across these or similar technologies is required. A Bachelors Degree (or higher) in a technical or related discipline is preferred. A recent graduate who demonstrates the drive and capacity to learn quickly, would also be considered. You will need to be adaptable, pragmatic in your approach and be able to use your initiative with outstanding communication skills.

The successful candidates will be part of the team that determines how elements of the system are modernized, IoT and AI platforms are leveraged and what functional elements are positioned where over time.

This is a great career opportunity to be part of a newly formed team responsible for refining and improving our production technology platforms.

Applications close Wednesday 1st April 2020.
