Talley’s releases independent auditor letter to 1News
Following a media report about health and safety practices at Talley’s Blenheim-based operations, Talley’s has released a letter from its independent workplace auditor to 1News.
Talley’s CEO Tony Hazlett said the company takes its staff’s health and safety seriously.
“Our active health and safety programme includes internal and independent audits at all our sites every year, where we address health and safety issues identified. To help inform the public about our workplace improvements, we are providing the full letter from our independent auditor that was sent to media yesterday.
“Meanwhile, the WorkSafe review into our company’s operations has started this week and we welcome this process. Independent workplace investigator Bush International Consulting Ltd is also two weeks into the specific allegations made earlier in July about the company’s Ashburton factory.
“We are confident in our health and safety systems. However, if there are additional improvements to be made, then we will willingly make them.
