New Zealand Greenshell™ Mussels are often referenced as one of the most sustainable seafood options. Every farm must operate in accordance with a resource consent that sets strict conditions determined and enforced by the local council. Greenshell™ Mussels are governed by provisions within the Resource Management Act and the Aquaculture Act.
Our Greenshell™ Mussels are delivered for processing within mere hours of being plucked from their pure ocean environment.
Once we're satisfied they meet our high standards, they're heat treated and snap frozen to preserve their freshness and flavour.
Nestled in their distinctive green shell, these tender, meaty mussels differ naturally in colour with apricot (female) and cream (male) both having the same exquisite flavour.
We harvest our mussels from Tasman Bay and the Marlborough Sounds, then send them for processing in our state of the art shellfish plants operating in Blenheim, Motueka and Havelock.
