Talley's Mike Black wins seabird award

Mike Black, depot manager for Talley's Group Ltd in Bluff, was presented with the Seabird Smart Award trophy in Bluff today.
Black received the award for implementing a Seabird Risk Management Plan for inshore trawlers along the southern coast.
He says his marine conservation ethic came from following his father around the Southland coast picking up beach rubbish.
The trophy is awarded by Southern Seabird Solutions Trust, an organisation that works with commercial and recreational fishermen to promote seabird smart fishing practices.
