There’s a secret to that ‘just picked taste’ of our vegetables. GE free and grown naturally on both our own and independent farms around New Zealand’s South Island, we pick our vegetables on the same day they’re snap frozen to lock in all the natural goodness and flavour. In fact, our peas are harvested, processed, packed and snap frozen all within 90 minutes!
We’re proud to be the only producer of 100% New Zealand grown vegetables. Our peas, corn, carrots, potatoes, kale and spinach all come from farms in Blenheim and Ashburton.
Our very own Blenheim and Ashburton farms produce 70% and 10% of our vegetables respectively, while 30% and 90% are grown by independent growers; so, there’s no doubt that when you buy Talley’s vegetables, you’re not only ensuring 100% NZ grown produce, you’re also supporting local independent growers.
Independent growers are hand selected by our field team; and only the best New Zealand farms are utilised to grow our vegetables. Every farm is soil tested, ensuring rich and fertile pastures for top growing conditions. Independent growers are also selected based on their growing history.
With fully integrated growing and processing operations that control planting, harvesting, processing, freezing, packing and cold-storage, quality is guaranteed through every step from the farm to the customer. Vegetables are transported from the farm to the factory using special alloy covered bathtub trucks, to ensure they arrive in the freshest condition.
