Are you keen to get on board?

If you are looking for more than just a 9-5 job, deepsea fishing with Talley’s offers great challenges and rewards. You’ll earn great money and receive up to four months' leave per year when you join our hard-working deepsea fishing crew. And right now, we’re looking for a Trainee Marine Baader Engineer for our deepsea trawlers.

It’s part job, part journey!

About the role

You will be a vital part of the crew, learning under the Baader Technician and Factory Engineers, about the maintenance of the Baader fish processing machinery, and all fish processing equipment onboard our modern fleet of deep-sea factory trawlers.

As part of the role, you will assist the Baader Technician with repairing and maintaining the mechanical systems of the Baader fish processing machines; complete daily job tasks to ensure the factory is kept running at optimal levels; and gain an understanding on the adjustments required to ensure that the desired conversion factors are being successfully achieved.

Work towards gaining a Level 4 Apprenticeship in Seafood Processing – Factory Trawler Technician over an 18-24 month period, with full training and on the job support.

You would be at sea for 4-6 weeks at a time which means you will be working every day during the trip. You will be scheduled to one trip on, one trip off – and while you’re at home relaxing on your trip off, you’ll still be fully paid.

Conditions can be challenging so being fit and healthy is a must. While onboard you will have a comfortable cabin, with an ènsuite, and most of our fleet have an onboard gym, WIFI and plenty of space to relax in your downtime.
