About the role

We’re on the lookout for an Intermediate Accountant who is ready to step foot in the industry. If you’re studying towards becoming a Chartered Accountant (or equivalent), we’ll support you every step of the way. Join a team where your work will have a real impact on the business.

This role is ideal for someone with a Bachelor of Commerce and 1–2 years of accounting experience, who is either pursuing or planning to begin their Chartered Accountancy (CA) qualification. As an Intermediate Accountant, you’ll take on more responsibility in financial reporting, compliance and analysis, while continuing to build your technical and professional capabilities.

As an Intermediate Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Month end and year end tasks, such as but not limited to divisional allocations, AP accruals, and prepayment journals
  • General accounting tasks such as bank reconciliation, fixed asset management, and financial accounting
  • Accounting and performance projects such as capital expenditure justification, process automation, and analytics
  • Developing an understanding of Talley’s core systems, improving efficiencies, and delivering insights to the business
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to management.
  • Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities.

For this role, you’ll need:

  • Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in accounting
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, experience with other MS applications is advantageous
  • Strong computer literacy skills, experience with accounting and inventory software
  • Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively with small and large teams
  • A self-driven problem-solving attitude
  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Enrolled in or planning to begin Chartered Accountancy (CA) studies.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Good communication and time management skills.
